In 1981, Queen–at their near peak–played two sold out proves at the Montreal Forum on November 24 th and 25 th. The testifies were filmed and recorded under extremely high quality, nonetheless the establishes were also rife with polemic. As lead guitarist Brian May interprets:
Saul Swimmer had the idea that he was able to film a Queen concert, in a very high quality 35 mm doubled anamorphic mode. For a start, we were not on tour, so all the music and ignites and production and CREW had to be reassembled just for this party, and “weve all” practise ourselves up to rapidity. Plus, we didn’t get on with Mr Saul Swimmer at all. Freddie including with regard to took an instantaneous dislike to the man, and this turned to something like hatred, when we detected on the first night that Swimmer had put up his own sunlights on the audience, changed the colour in our suns, and had cameras all over the stage … obviously “were not” going to be able to treat it like a normal gig. It get worse on the second largest nighttime, when Saul Swimmer challenged that Freddie wear the same clothes as the first night … and represent the same moves … this guy “d no idea” that the picture wasn’t choreographed … we basically did what we liked … So tantrums flared … and it shows.
