Jussie Smollett Speaks Out After Horrific Attack Betches

On Tuesday, it was reported that Empire performer Jussie Smollett was viciously attacked in an evident hate crime in Chicago. As we previously reported, the alleged attacks hit him in the face, reportedly hollered, “This is MAGA country, ” spouted an “unknown substance” all over him( which has been suspected to be bleach) and tied a lasso around his cervix. Smollett moved himself to the hospital after suffering injuries.

Since the word interrupted, love, luminaries, and activists have vocalized their expressed support for Jussie and their condemnation of the alleged attack.

Because of the probability that the two attacks was a hate crime, the whole incident has taken on a deeper implication. Presidential nominee Kamala Harris offered her reinforcement, while making the declaration that we must take on the hatred that fuels these type of attacks.

In the few periods since the information was first reported, we’ve all been concerned about how Jussie Smollett is doing, and today he violated his stillnes about the incident. In a statement to Essence, he said ” “Let me start by saying that I’m okay. My body is strong but my feeling is stronger. More importantly I want to say thank you. The outpouring of adoration and assistance from my village has meant more than I will ever be able to truly put into terms .”

Smollett goes on to say that he is cooperating fully with law enforcement to ensure that justice is served in this case, and notes that he is working to stop the spread of inaccuracies about the two attacks. He doesn’t go into detail about what happened, but leaves us with a harrowing word of the assistance provided and strength 😛 TAGEND

“As my family stated, these sorts of cowardly criticizes are happening to my sisters, brothers and non-gender conforming siblings daily. I am not and shall not be required to be be looked upon as an isolated incident. We will talk soon and I will address all the detailed rules for this grisly incident, but I need a moment to process. Most importantly, during times of trauma, heartbreak and pain, there continue to be a responsibility to leading with enjoy. It’s all I know. And that can’t be kicked out of me.”

While Jussie continues to recover from this horrible occurrence, we continue to send him nothing but adore and assist. Hopefully, we can use this misfortune as an opportunity to come together against the hatred that is still too prevailing in our society.
