We’re sorry to bring up this pain memory, but as a remember, at this moment Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther persona, T’Challa, is dead.
The Black Panther was one of many people( half the world’s population, to be precise) killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War , and ahead of Avengers: Endgame , em> Boseman’s decided to keep his lip closed during press interviews to avoid spoilers.
In a recent red carpet interview with Access , when asked about Boseman’s future with Marvel, he simply said, “I’m dead.” He recited it so many times that is sway us to our cores, and after a few seconds the video felt pretty relatable.
“People are ready to see this movie. They’re buying the tickets, it’s nuts. I signify, how does that feel to know that they desire this movie so much better? ” the interviewer asks Boseman.
“It’s great but I’m dead so I can’t answer any questions about that, ” he bluntly replied.
“So you don’t want to give us a spoiler or anything like that? ” the reporter continued, to which he again reminded her, “I’m dead.”
She asked if there’s anything Boseman could tell fans about a potential Black Panther sequel, and Boseman echoed, “I’m dead.” And when the reporter excused, “Noooo. We’re not ready for you to be dead, Chadwick, ” he did not let her down easy.
“But I am. I’m dead, ” he said.
The repetition, facial expressions, and camera zooms in Boseman’s “I’m dead” video make for a rightfully relatable masterpiece, and Twitter users were inspired to turn the clip into a meme.
Perhaps after Avengers: Endgame Boseman can pass along these interrogation responses to Chris Evans, whose persona Captain America is believed to be headed for fatality.
